Links

I'm always expanding the links on this blog, and having them on the sidebar is very limiting because I can't put as much link as I want without getting the page too messy. Hence, this page.

The links displayed are mostly the links I frequent. Some are links which I only visit once a year but the URL are too much of a hassle to type or memorize. Some links I have no idea about but have them up anyway to trick unsuspecting readers. Haha.

To Istinja' Or Not To Istinja'

I was in my brother's room with another brother, when the former started yelling from the toilet.

*Istinja' is cleaning oneself after every call of nature. Learn more about it here.

Do You Own This Book?

If you do, turn to page 65 and look at the top of that page.

Potatoes, roast. Oven 230*C (210*C fan-forced),
pan with
5mm peanut oil in oven; peel potatoes, boil 30min until
friable on the outside, drain, put in hot oil, cook on top shelf of
oven for about 90min until crisp (baste every 20min).

Dave Matthews & Me

Only Dave Matthews could make 'Oh', 'Yeah' and 'Hey' sound so soothing that it calms you. Dave possess a voice of magical quality. People have liken his voice to a musical instrument rather than mere vocals.

His voice is mesmerizing. It captivates you and puts you under some kind of charm. Listened through a pair of headphones, it will put you under a state of trance of some sort.

I still remember listening exclusively to Dave Matthews Band for a few months while preparing for 3rd year exams. My notes from that period of time were riddled with snippets of lyrics from their songs.

Few weeks before the exams, and wanting some degree of isolation, I moved all my essential stuff into a friend's house. He had a small empty store room which was suitable as my 'isolation cave'. It was a very small room, measuring 6' x 8' - smaller than a prison cell.

I can't recall the exact colour of the walls. As what I had was only yellow light, I always remembered the room being of the yellow tone. The view out the window was not much, part of it was obstructed by the other condo block. It faced the direction of sunrise, but I guess I was never a morning person to witness any.

A word to describe the room - other than small - was dusty. The cement floor was always dusty. No matter how many times I've swept and mopped it, again and again, it was always dusty to the touch.

It wasn't anything spectacular, but it had everything I need. Table, chair, my notes, a table lamp, a box fan and a portable CD player.

You guessed it. Songs by Dave Matthews Band. Hundreds of them.

This is pretty much how the room looks like.

There is just something about listening to music in a confined space. With the proximity of the walls, floor and ceiling being so close to each other, and music through a pair of earphones that just saturates your senses, it was an overwhelming encounter. It gives you this sense of nothingness, other than what is in front of you.

This overwhelming experience was ingrained very deeply into the subconscious. This part of my life juts out significantly as I walk down memory lane.

And everytime I listen to the familiar songs, it brings me back to this very small room.

Kuda-di-Dada-dee-da-dee-doo

Have you been to town lately? Haven't you noticed that there's some phenomenon going on? It's called Kuda-di-Dada-dee-da-dee-doo Phenomenon.

Exhibit 'A' describes the morphology of the subjects affected by this global enigma.

Further observation shows that people with mental lethargy and envy-driven attitude are at higher risk of contracting such phenomenon. It's no surprise such scene is commonly observed in densely populated areas of KL, or Malaysia for that matter.

"When creativity runs out, follow what the next guy does."

Oh, anak bangsaku.

Wafor Spend Money On Education Mah??

I got this in my email, and I just got to put it up here.

Throw a laughing dart between "What the hell?" and "How true!" and you'll probably hit the expression I had when I saw this.

Now I gotta work on that pitching. Bonda, akhirnya.... Oh bondaaaaaaaaa~~ OOoooOOOoooo~~~~

2000 Light Years Away

It has been weeks since I went back home.

Even on the weekends that I did go back, I didn't spend time with the person I miss the most.

I'm missing my grandma very badly.

When I go back home this weekend for Aidil Adha, I'm gonna spend more time with her.

Why do I love my grandma so much?
